Grandparents’ Day – Wednesday, 30th September | 11.00am–12.00pm (17/09/2026)

Sep 23, 2026

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are delighted to invite you to our Grandparents’ Day on Wednesday, 30th September from 11.00am to 12.00pm.

We know how important grandparents can be in the lives of our children, and we would love to welcome them into school for a special morning together.

Grandparents will have the opportunity to spend some time in school with their grandchild, visit their classroom and get a little glimpse into their school day. There will be tea and coffee and time to enjoy each other’s company.

Who can come?

While we are celebrating grandparents, we recognise that every family is different. Grandparents may live abroad, may be unable to attend, or may no longer be with us.

For this reason, children are very welcome to invite a special adult in their life to join them instead. This might be an aunt or uncle, godparent or another important adult.

Parents are very welcome to join us too!

If a grandparent or special person lives abroad or cannot attend on the day, we would still love to include them. Families are welcome to send in a photograph, short letter or video message which their child can share and enjoy as part of the morning.

Let Us Know Who’s Coming

Next week, we will send out a Google Form to help us get an idea of numbers attending.

We will also be looking for a small number of volunteers from each class to bring along some baked treats to share. Further details will be included in the form.

Half-Day Reminder

Please note that Wednesday, 30th September is a half day for pupils, as the school will close to facilitate whole-school planning.

Grandparents’ Day: 11.00am–12.00pm
School finishes for pupils: 12.00pm

We are really looking forward to welcoming our grandparents into school and sharing what we hope will be a lovely and memorable morning for our whole school community.

Warm regards,

The BCNS Team
