Dear Families,
We are delighted to share that our school will be taking part in Music Generation this year! 🎶
Music Generation is Ireland’s national music education programme, giving children access to high-quality music tuition from trained music teachers.
The programme was recently confirmed, and the Music Generation team were eager to get started straight away. We thank MĂşinteoir Eimear for working hard to secure this wonderful opportunity for our school.
We were so excited to see a batch of ukuleles arrive at the school, with every pupil from Third to Sixth Class receiving their own ukulele for the year! Our pupils have already enjoyed their first lesson today, and we can’t wait to see what Music Generation has in store for Junior Infants to Second Class tomorrow. 🎸
Each class will receive a weekly 40-minute lesson during the normal school day as part of the curriculum. The programme will run for 28 weeks throughout the school year and will cost €40 per child—working out at just under €1.50 per lesson.
Families may pay in two instalments—an initial payment of €20 followed by a second payment of €20 in January—or pay the full €40 upfront. We will be in touch with further details once our online money collection system is up and running.
This is a brilliant opportunity for the children to explore music, develop their music literacy, build confidence and learn new skills with trained music teachers. We are really excited to see their musical journey unfold throughout the year!
