Dear Parents/Guardians,

Weather permitting, we are hoping to take the children on a little field trip to Kilcullen this Thursday.

We are currently exploring the themes of Autumn focusing on the stories of  The Gruffalo , The Leaf Thief  & The Pumpkin Thief as well as incorporating Halloween in our Junior Room.  We thought this would be a lovely opportunity to bring some of this learning outdoors and incorporate these themes into a fun day out together.

We plan to travel on the Local Link bus from outside the school. While in Kilcullen, we will go on an autumnal walk, looking for signs of autumn and collecting some autumn treasures, including some “special” leaves to use in our upcoming art lesson. We will also have a Gruffalo hunt, enjoy some time in the playground and have a picnic lunch.

We are hoping to collect €5 cash only per child to help cover the cost of transport.

As we will be returning on the Local Link bus, collection from school will be at the later time of 2.30pm on Thursday.

Children should bring their usual lunch and drink, and please ensure they are dressed appropriately for the weather, with a warm, waterproof coat and comfortable shoes.

The trip will be weather permitting, and  it will be postponed to another day if the weather isn’t suitable. We will advise you of any changes. 

Please complete the permission request on Aladdin to confirm that you are happy for your child to take part in the trip.

We’re really looking forward to bringing our classroom themes to life and having a fun autumn day out with the children!
